Replies to Cephalofair Games: Project Update: Timeline update

This is purely outside speculation, but it's likely a combination of a few things. First off, the estimate was that fulfillment would begin in October, which likely meant October 31 and thus delivery would be in November going into December. It's looking like things are going to be 3 months behind schedule overall, theoretically 2.5 if everything goes perfectly from here on. But their timeline was inherently too aggressive. I think if everything had gone right they might have been a couple weeks behind anyway. The bigger thing though is that they didn't realize how difficult it would be to run this many projects simultaneously, and overestimated how much they could accomplish in the given timeframe. You would hope that they'd have perfected and streamlined all their processes by now, but the reality is that they haven't. I could easily see organizational issues costing them another month or so. On top of that, it seems likely that getting Frosthaven ready for a second printing needed more work than they expected it to, with a significantly larger editing pass than originally estimated. That would carry over to the books as well, since they don't have everything running in parallel and only have so many people to work on things. I'm hoping in the future they'll be more conservative with their timelines. Until they've got this stuff fully streamlined (if they ever do), there's going to be a lot of possibility for unforeseen delays, and the timelines need to reflect that.
