yeah, but no. Im going to call them my Careweres, which is the perfect name, so adorable and leads to thinking of stuffies with loaded personalities I had in childhood, but with a supernatural touch. I dont want a snughloul. I dont think I wouldve bought two of them, maybe not even one, if Id seen that name online, tbh. The name Careweres in particular brought me, and several others, here. Not trying to be mean, just giving my honest two cents and I am not a fan.
Like I've said in previous updates I don't make changes lightly-- this is a necessary step to protect and distinguish the brand so I can keep making cool things.
If you'd like a refund I'm happy to issue one though. This applies to everyone up until the plushies go into production. The last thing I want is for someone to receive an item that no longer makes them happy for whatever reason.
I never said anything about a refund? I believe you have misinterpreted what I said.
I didnt say "I wish I hadnt bought two". I said ***the name brought me here***, I wouldnt have came to this site if Id have seen the name "snughoul" online because I would never have pictured these stuffies with that title. I saw advertised on facebook "careweres" and my brain pictured exactly what these are... carebear type stuffies that are occult aka supernatural :) I saw the word and went wow I gotta see that, which lead to be purchasing two of them! If Id seen "snughoul" on facebook, I would have pictured in my head either a ghost stuffie or a blanket with ghosts on it, and therefore would not have clicked the link.
Do you understand what I am saying now? Not I hate this HAHAHAHA Im saying the branding worked better, in my most humble of opinions, with the previous name, drawing in the right kinda folks looking for this exact thing.
Snughoul make me think of ghosts, not carebear type stuffies. Not specialized occult stuffies. Rather a soft ghost blanket or maybe a ghost stuffie. I think ghosts when I hear this. I thought that this was for giving our real opinions, not just smoke blowing, so I dont understand why people are upset that the word careweres brought me to this site., Isnt that what its for :P
Apologies I interpreted "I dont think I wouldve bought two of them, maybe not even one, if Id seen that name online" to mean you regretted the purchase now that the name was changed.
But I see what you're saying, and do understand the disappointment! And generally appreciate the feedback, but in this instance my hands are honestly tied 😅 People with a lot more legal know-how than me have recommended changing the name and it made sense to me what with how litigious these big companies tend to be.
There's also a very high probability I can't trademark "carewere" at all which opens us up to even more issues, so from a longevity standpoint the name change had to happen.
I can def see how you thought that, but what it actually meant was "I wouldn't have bought any of them because I wouldn't have clicked the link, because I would have assumed it was ghost related and never would have gotten "carebear like supernatural plsuhies" off of the name snughoul, as Im not into ghost related stuff, therefore would not have clicked the link, therefore would not have bought two, or heck, even one of them cause I would never have saw them".
And I get it on the TM and all, but I just dont think this name is right. I see others saying it makes them think of ghosts as well, so clearly thats not just me. I dont think by hearing that name you can picture these in your head on your own by imagination, but with carewears you absolutely could. Its exactly what I pictured. If I was a ghosty lover and say snughouls I might be like oh snap ghost blanket fork yeah and click it and then be like oh well thats not what I was looking for. Does this make sense? Im a small business owner as well with unique OOAK products so had to go thru this process also, with getting feedback from folks and settled on something perfect that I would not have gotten to on my own, as others think of things I do not. I thought this was for sharing two cents, not just saying OH YAY, am I mistaken in that belief? At any rate, I apologize for the misunderstanding, hope you see what I am saying now, and while I adore the plushies themsleves, I am not a fan of the new ghost sounding name.
on that same tip... ghoul makes one think of graveyards, spirits, ghosts. These guys are not ghosts or ghouls at all, not a single ghoul plushie in the collection. What they are is supernatural occult creatures and cryptids, so personally I think if one could come up with something cute a creative with some of those terms it may be better branding. Ghouls are ghosty spirits, ya know??? It just doesnt fit, in my most humble of two cents, if thats what this forum is for sharing our two cents like I am assuming it is.
