Welcome to my 4th enamel pin crowdfunding project (1st on Backerkit)! "Sakura Samurai" is an original character design I created initially for my beloved brother, who loves samurai characters and one day, frustratedly admitted that he couldn't find any samurai pins for his collection that fit his vision. Me, being a designer and a problem solver, quickly took it upon myself to craft something special, especially considering my growing desire to create larger and fancier enamel pins compared to my usual "cutesy" designs. Thus, the Sakura Samurai was bornโan elegant, sassy swordswoman who's ready to kick butt and earn a shiny spot in your pin collection! I'm excited to share my brother and I's love of fantasy characters and unique original art, and hope you'll join us on this journey of bringing some fancy new pins to life :)ย
โฆ These large, deluxe pins will be hard enamel with double back posts, rubber clutches, and my official Lexidus logo engraved on the back side.
โฆ Please note that the colors shown may not be an exact match to the final product(s) due to differences in monitors and slight color tweaks during manufacturing -ย however, they've been rendered as accurately as possible :)
โฆ Q: Why the high price? Well, these pins are chonky! Due to their larger size, heavy amount of colors and all their special effects, the cost to produce these pins is a lot more than those from my previous projects. I picked a pledge tier price that allows me to offer them to you the cheapest way possible while still being able to pay for costs. Your pledges directly fund these pins and bring them to life!
Below are 2 sample pins I've been working on with my manufacturer to test the size, colors, effects and details. PLEASE NOTE: All of the colors and effects on these samples are the result of an initial test run, meaning updates have been made to the artwork since. Most notably:
โฆ The background gradient will be much smoother, and have a soft speckled texture as opposed to the harsh swirls โฆ Will be lightening the blue robe colors on the Midnight variant so it contrasts and "pops" off the background better โฆ Softening the neon-looking pinks and yellows on the Sunrise variant for a more aesthetically pleasing look โฆ Adding โจsparklesโจ to both variants for a more layered and dynamic feel
Backerkit is a crowdfunding platform, meaning the amount you pledge to this project directly goes into the project manufacturing costs and fulfillment fees. Blooming people's dreams and visions to life, and ultimately creating something that brings others encouragement, inspiration or a smile will forever be my favorite part of this design business!
Each time I design new enamel pins, I aim to push the envelope further, in terms of manufacturing techniques, art details, packaging presentation and overall product quality. For the most part up until now, I've kept my love of semi-realism and fantasy art reserved for my digital paintings, and have used enamel pins as an outlet for my other joy of cutesy, punny, chibi-style illustrations. With this project, I seek to bridge that gap and translate my painting style into the enamel pin world to offer the types of large fantasy pins that I myself have always loved and enjoy collecting. However, I'll make sure the physical pins match as close as possible to the digital proofs! ๐ธ ๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐๐ฆ: All pins will be personally inspected and graded before shipping out. I intend to ship out the best quality (A grade) pins possible to all backers, though please understand that since enamel pins are handmade items, there's always a possibility of small manufacturing defects (typically only noticed under bright light & close inspection). ๐ธ ๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐๐๐๐ง๐จ๐ฅ๐๐ฅ: I'll be producing these pins with the same manufacturer who brought some of my previous works to life, and I'm confident in the quality & durability of their work. I'm also having samples of these pins made before the full order so that I can triple check the designs in person and make any tweaks as necessary.

As soon as all the products arrive to me, we'll be working hard to pack up your orders as safely and timely as possible. Should I or any of my team members get sick during this time, I'll let you know immediately, and delay shipment until everyone is healthy and ready to resume again.
