The sea is vast, and there’s always more to discover beyond the horizon. New factions, treasure, and creatures fill these waters!

Listen a bit, and you'll hear the rumors spreading from port to port, tavern to tavern: A military force more vicious than the Bluefins. A brewing rebellion with absurd yet effective tactics. A frightening monster with a never-ending body—the stuff of tall tales. A parading pirate band that loves to host a lavish party? What's all this?

Ahoy: New Horizons includes four new factions: the hulking Blackfish Brigade, the sprightly Shellfire Rebellion, the fearsome Leviathan, and the cunning Coral Cap Pirates. By adding these new factions, you can play Ahoy with over 30 unique faction combinations! 

Setting up a game with the new factions is easy: pick one blue Military faction, one yellow Rebel faction, and up to two of the other factions. You're ready for a fresh scenario with an ocean of new strategies to explore.

The Blackfish Brigade commands a powerful whale pod that surges across the sea, leaving a path of destruction in their wake. This alternate faction to the Bluefin Squadron moves as quick as a surging wave and hits just as hard. 

Plan your actions carefully to fill your Whale Pod, then use Whale Song to deploy your Patrols across the ocean. Once your Patrols are out, your flagship can Surge across the map, moving quickly while mopping up any meddlesome Comrades in their path.

Willing to risk life and limb for their cause, the Shellfire Rebellion catapults their Comrades into position to defend their homeland. Take to the seas with this alternate faction for the Mollusk Union, and have a shell of a time.

Build and position your Launchers to send your Comrades to as many Islands as possible. But keep in mind, the Range you can launch them changes every round. Use your deck of Plan cards to outwit and outgun the oppressors. 

The fearsome Leviathan snakes around the map, spreading chaos and destruction as it seeks its next meal. Add this terrifying monster to replace a Smuggler in 3- and 4-player games.

Your hunger is unending. Strike Patrols and Devour Comrades to grow larger, faster, and stronger. Evolve new abilities and defend yourself from those who seek to gain Fame by slaying you. Don't get tangled, though—you can never have two parts of your massive body in the same space.

The Coral Cap Pirates seek out a boatload of new sailors to join them for a good time robbin', raidin', and paradin'. Add these pirates to replace a Smuggler in 3- and 4-player games.

With the charming Captain Rugosa, you'll travel the seas and Hire new Crew to captain your mighty Frigates. Each Frigate is uniquely equipped, offering new ways to gain Fame. Command your ever-growing fleet with Parade, and Enlist extra Crew to outfit your Frigates for even more Fame. But Sail carefully, since damaged Frigates will cost you at the end of the game.

In 2022 we released Ahoy, a game of seafaring and smuggling for 2 to 4 players. Ahoy was designed as an introduction to the world of asymmetric games while offering experienced players fresh strategic challenges. 

With 2 players, one player is the Bluefin Squadron and the other is the Mollusk Union. These factions battle for control over the islands and surrounding seas you discover as you explore the map during play.

With 3 or 4 players, the additional players play as Smugglers, who run blockades to smuggle cargo, increasing the wealth of the regions they deliver it to—while earning some coin, of course.

The Bluefin Squadron is a militant company of sharks and their toothy friends who keep order with shot and sword.

Choke the sea with your Patrols and lock off island access with your Strongholds. You'll show those Rebels who's boss!

The Mollusk Union is an alliance of undersea creatures and their comrades who fight to reclaim their ancestral home.

Rally and Inspire your Comrades, and Assemble their ranks to execute the perfect Plan to unseat the interlopers! 

The Smugglers are maverick captains who run blockades to deliver cargo to those with the most need—or coin.

Negotiate for valuable cargo and crew, collecting Fame and rewards as you explore.

At Leder Games, we are committed to sharing our design process openly. As we have done in past campaigns, we will release Tabletop Simulator mods as well as print-and-play kits so you can try out the new factions as we develop them.

We plan to release two sets of mods and kits in the coming weeks: the first set will have the Blackfish Brigade and the Shellfire Rebellion, and the second set will have the Coral Cap Pirates and the Leviathan. Stay tuned to our updates to hear about those drops!
