We’ve passed $760,000 in reserved orders thanks to the combined passion of nearly 5,200 Children of the Fence and moved to the 6th most successful campaign on BackerKit of all time!
Today, we’re thrilled to unveil the black and white line art for Riccardo Latina’s first BOOM! Direct Reserve cover for THE AMORY WARS: GOOD APOLLO, I’M BURNING STAR IV, VOL. II: NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW available through this campaign. Riccardo chose to spotlight Claudio and Chase along with the iconic dragonfly in this first cover image and we think it turned out beautifully!
As a reminder, this cover image will be part of a larger 12-part composition across the 12-issue series, and the composited image will be featured on our 20th Anniversary print. What do you think of the piece? Let us know in the comments!
Additionally, based on feedback from the fans participating in this campaign, we’ve adjusted our next Supreme Stretch Goal so that everyone with a physical reserved order of $75 or more (as opposed to $85 or more), will receive a 10-card set of THE AMORY WARS trading cards for free. Hey, everybody! Spike here, with a big THANK YOU to everyone who's just made sure Indiginerds gets to happen!
Not only did you secure FIVE pay raises for our contributors, but 75 COPIES of Indiginerds will be donated to Indigenous libraries across the US and Canada! We're so thrilled and proud to be able to have hit that stretch goal, and spread the love a little. And we could have never done it without you.
Your credit/debit cards should have already been charged for your pledge amounts. Please, make sure those charges went through! If they did not, you should have received an email from Backerkit about it saying so; you will have two weeks to attempt to recharge your card, or use a different one. If your pledge still has not come through in the following two weeks, your pledge will be forfeited! The window to resubmit a card number and update a rejected payment method closes November 30th. Please make sure your payment resolves, we want to make sure you get your rewards.
After all the pledges go through, we should have the money drop into the Iron Circus account in another one to two weeks. Then, the REAL work begins! Backerkit updates will go out every one to two months, informing you on the state of Indiginerds.
As for Backerkit surveys, we will delay sending those out for at least a month. The earliest you can expect them is the end of December, but they will more likely arrive in early January. This is to cut down on customer service tickets, which tend to accrue if we send the surveys out too early. As stated on the crowdfund page, we plan on fulfilling the project (AKA, putting stuff in the mail) sometime next year; specifically, spring of 2024.
For folks who have been asking, you WILL have an opportunity to add extra items to your final pledge during the survey portion of the fulfillment. This includes both Indiginerds backer levels, AND other Iron Circus titles!

The campaign funds have all arrived safely at my bank, and your backer surveys are under review!
...granted, I requested the review right before the staff goes on Thanksgiving holiday break. But since most of my backers are from the US, you're probably going on break too, and wouldn't exactly have time to fill them out between the turkey and the pie.
Like I did last year with Volume 5, I'll be making the Volume 6 cover art available during the survey. The trick is that I drew the figures on two pages. Instead of trying to coordinate giving them away separately, I'll just offer them as a set:
It'll be your big chance to get the firsthand look at which parts were inked by hand, and which ones got digitally composited in. Tempting, right?

These two were our $300,000 stretch goal, and we hit that mark early in the campaign. Juniper's been hard at work on the designs ever since, and now, they're ready for primetime! Tracy's so pleased with how they turned out, and we hope you are, too.

We're down to the last 24 hours of Indiginerds, and what an amazing time it has been! We just crossed the 200% funded threshold to unlock both the cover enhancements AND another pay raise for our contributors, bringing us up to a grand total of FOUR! And though there's now less than a day left, we know that there's still time to finish strong and see if we can't get our contributors yet another bonus for all of the amazing work they did.
Don't know about you, but I'm itching for some holo foil...

Library Donations
You may have already seen the new add on - the Library Donation level. This allows you to purchase a book to be donated towards our Library Donation program, where we send free copies of Indiginerds to Indigenous schools, community centers and more across the US and Canada.
Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart! A central teaching of all Indigenous cultures is the idea that you give back to your community however you can, and Indiginerds gives us two ways to do that. First, by giving a platform for people to discover new Indigenous talent, like all of the amazing artists and writers who contributed to this project.
And the second way of giving back is far more direct - donating copies of the book to Indigenous youth through our Library Donations level.

Since we unlocked the Library Donations level, we've already had 30+ books donated to the cause, so we should be able to reach all of the places we had in mind and THEN some!
We also had some folks ask if they could suggest places for the donated copies to be sent, and while we can't guarantee anything (many libraries have a process for receiving books), we are certainly open to suggestions. We’re still reeling from being joined by over 5,000 THE AMORY WARS fans on this journey and can’t wait to welcome even more of you over the next 24 days! We’re also nearing three-quarters of a million dollars in reserved orders, which means we unlocked upgrades to everyone’s softcovers and slipcases over the weekend.
To kick the week off, we wanted to take a moment to dive deeper into the 12-issue comic book set of THE AMORY WARS: GOOD APOLLO, I’M BURNING STAR IV, VOL. II: NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW offered exclusively through BOOM! Direct Reserve. When you reserve this set, you’ll get the complete story of NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW in individual comic book issues.
Each issue in this set will feature a BOOM! Direct Exclusive variant cover by Riccardo Latina and colorist Valentina Bianconi, who were handpicked by Claudio Sanchez to illustrate the covers for this campaign. But that’s not all, because these 12 covers will connect to form a single epic image, which will also be spotlighted on THE AMORY WARS 20th Anniversary Print available through this campaign. Riccardo Latina is an Italian illustrator, comic book artist and video game artist. In the North American market, he is best known for illustrating Seven Swords with frequent collaborator and colorist Valentina Bianconi for Aftershock Comics.
But THE AMORY WARS fans may know him best from his beautifully illustrated Coheed and Cambria print for the Royal Oak, Michigan stop of the “Neverender: No World For A Waking Mind” tour!
Riccardo creates highly detailed, dynamic, and just plain stunning images and we’re so excited to reveal the first of his covers later during this campaign! In the meantime, feast your eyes on some recent art samples!

We're now down to the final 48 hours of the campaign, but we're not slowing down! Remember that every 5k milestone we hit means that we'll be able to give our contributors a pay raise, so there's still plenty of time to directly support Indigenous creators. We've already unlocked THREE pay raises for our contributors, and there's still time for a few more!
And unlocking the COVER ENHANCEMENTS is getting closer all the time. This amazing cover by Britt "holoske" Newton definitely deserves some fancy accents! This stretch goal will unlock at 40k, so please continue to share this project on your socials and help us make this goal a reality!

Not only are we off to amazing start with over 3,666 fans of THE AMORY WARS rising up and reserving over $595,876 in collected editions, comics, and collectibles, but in just one day, we’ve already climbed 5 rungs on our ladder of Supreme Stretch Goals!
And if you’ve been paying attention to our ever evolving campaign page and achievements, you know you've got another thing coming with our IVth Supreme Stretch Goal! II: NO WORLD FOR TOMORROW along with a cover gallery that will feature not only Riccardo Latina’s covers from this campaign, but covers released in comic shops, at conventions, and elsewhere. Every collected edition set offered through this BOOM! Direct Reserve features an exclusive and consistent 20th Anniversary book design. The final design will also showcase unique artwork by Riccardo Latina set within the Keywork symbol on the left side of the front cover of each volume. And for the first time, we’re offering these collected editions in hardcover and slipcased hardcover editions!
